I have a great mission president!

We had interviews with President Tervort. It went well. He is truly an inspired man. He teaches us things that are so important for our mission and things that will help us for the whole of our lives. I’m super grateful.

I wonder....

The Holy Ghost is really the most important part of life here outside of the presence of God. I love feeling the spirit. It makes me think, ¨I wonder if this is what the celestial kingdom feels like?" It´s probably even better. That’s something to work for even through all of the tough times, no?

Tranquilo

We had a cool lesson this week with a family that we call family OSO (bear) because their dog is huge and is named Oso and we don´t know their real last name. Their son was visiting. We talked about the Atonement and asked them how they felt. The spirit was softly there. They felt tranquilo. We explained Jesus´ baptism and the feeling grew. The son moved his chair closer and when we asked them how they felt again he said, ¨Descansado, como todo el estress se fue¨ (rested, like the stress all left) and made a sweeping motion with his hands down his body. We explained again that it was the spirit testifying of the truth. The next sentence was going to be the baptismal commit when three people walked into the house and started demostrating a pot set and cooking and talking and everything. The family didn´t come to church, but I know that they know it is true. They left somewhere. We will pass by again to see what the spirit can do for that family.

So, more about the Book of Mormon Fest: The English group will finish early. Just make sure that when you read Moroni 10:3-5 (or sooner if you want) that you test out the promise of Moroni. It is a promise from God that you will feel the spirit testify of the truth of the book. Be sure to pay attention to your feelings and you can know for sure that what you feel is how the spirit communicates with you. Cool promise, no?

Book of Mormon Fest

Pres Tervort is having a “read the Book of Mormon fest” and invited us to invite all our family and friends back home to join in. Starting August 1st we will read 5 pages every day (35 pages a week). The focus will be on the spirit and teaching and things that can help in our every day life.

So, hop on the train and find the truth brothahs and sistahs!

Anyways, one year in the mission? Whatever! That went way tooooooo fast!

I have noticed that nowadays, way too many people focus on the negative parts of life and then that makes them sad. I love to look for the positive and then I´m happy. It seems to work quite well so I´m trying to get people to do it. It is just much more fun for every one! There are definitely some bad things about Mexico, but there´s bad parts about the US as well. When there is bad, there is also good. It all depends on where our focus is. The brain is a powerful thing. It reminds me of the "Desire talk" by Dallin H. Oaks. Go get em! See whatcha love and love watcha see! Heck yeah!!!
